Lost Memories

Framed in a beautiful oak border,
Is the old photograph of the young couple.
She stares at the picnic of lovers,
Beautiful scenery all around
Oh, how she wishes she was there again.

She takes down the picture, sits down and stares,
Taking everything that she can from this old memory.
There they sit, on a red and white checkerboard cloth.
She can still taste the sweetness of the strawberries,
Can still smell those colorful flowers.
This is all she has left of this perfect day;
A single picture to remember what it was like before he was gone from the world

All she can do is stare at that photograph.
Never really noticing what was there.
She stares at the photograph and tears silently fall on the glass protecting the
memory
