2001: Friends of Central Library created the Muriel Koretz Award, in honor of the newspaper columnist, for the promotion of children’s reading

2001: Ashley McGraw Architects, P.C. and library consultant Richard Waters of Providence Associates, Inc. conducted a study of O.C.P.L. facilities and operations to be added to Onondaga County’s six-year improvement plan
