ABOUT THE LIBRARY

The Southwest Community Center satellite library of OCPL is located in the Southwest Community Center at 401 South Ave.   Established in 1975 and currently affiliated with the Beauchamp Branch, the 600 square foot library is on the second level of the facility.

The library’s collection of more than 6,000 items includes books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and one of the largest VHS videocassette collections in the area.   Six public access computers with three dedicated to children’s usage are available to patrons with a valid library card.

Throughout the year, the library hosts story hours and a summer reading program along with craft activities for children.  The library also serves as home to the “Red Hot Mamas Book, Community Service and Activism Club” comprised of neighborhood seniors.
